On August 9th to 13th, 2019, To further explore the research
topics of the Silk Road and the Qin-Han civilization, and to provide
academic support for the construction of the Silk Road Economic
Belt, an international conference themed “International Conference
on the Silk Road and the Qin-Han Civilization” was held in
Zhangye (also known as Changyeh), Gansu Province by the Cultural
Relics Bureau of Gansu Province, the People’ s Government
of Ganzhou district, Zhangye, and the Sports, Broadcasting and
Tourism Bureau of Ganzhou District. Over 120 scholars and
experts from G ermany, Japan, domestic research institutes,
universities and local cultural institutes attended the conference.
The representatives from China and abroad had heated discus -
sions on the early national migration, cultural exchange, technology
dissemination, new discoveries and new issues in Qin-Han
Archaeology and Archaeology of Science and Technology, which
plays an important role in deepening our understanding the characteristics
of Qin-Han civilization and the position of the Silk
Roads in the development of Chinese civilization, and provides a
basis for deepening the research on the Silk
Road and Qin and Han civilization. These
new ideas also provides important academic
support for the construction of the Silk Road
Economic Belt. It makes us further realize
the role of Hexi Corridor in the Silk Road,
and fu rther demo nstrates the pro found
cultural heritage of Zhangye.
