TThe 2018 Silk Road China-Europe Investment Forum was held in Fuzhou on May 18. More than 200 enterprise delegates from China, Belarus, Italy, Portugal and Hungary discussed about the investment cooperation outlook and opportunities between China and European countries under the Belt and Road Initiative.

As a sideline business event of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Expo and the 20th Cross-Straits Fair for Economy and Trade, this forum aimed at deepening the economic and trade cooperation between China and relevant countries and promoting the China-Europe two-way investment.

When addressing the forum, Chen Zhou, Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), which is the host of the forum, said that CCPIT, as China’s largest trade promotion agency, has long been dedicated to promoting China-foreign business exchanges and developing good relations with foreign embassies in China.

“CCPIT will build more trade and investment promotion platforms, foster information, commercial legal services and facilitate the two-way investment. CCPIT will work with governments, chambers of commerce, etc. of the European countries to create more cooperation opportunities for both sides to achieve mutual benefits and win-win development,” added Chen.

Business and trade officials from the embassies of Belarus, Italy, Portugal and Hungary briefed the respective business environment, investment policy and investment projects.
