　　从2014年开始，在欧亚-太平洋地区大学联盟（Eurasia-PacificUninet, 简称EPU）支持下，由南京大学和维也纳应用艺术大学（University of Applied Arts Viena）共同发起了“丝绸之路考古与文物保护国际学术会议”，迄今已成功举办了三届：第一、二届分别在中国西北大学（2014）和南京大学（2016），第三届在伊朗大不里士（2018）。本书是第二届会议的论文集。共收录13篇论文，分别以传统考古学、科技考古与文物保护为主题，对丝绸之路沿线重要文化遗产进行了深入讨论，其中多篇是关于中国新疆考古遗存的最新研究，既有对考古新见遗存的科技分析，也有对西方博物馆所藏早年出自新疆的壁画的保护研究。论文集是最新文物保护技术与理念的展示，对我国考古与文物保护研究具有一定的借鉴作用。
