From the 12th to 15th November 2015, theSilk Road world cultural heritage protection and management training course washeld in Xi’an. The training course was hosted by the State Administration ofCultural Heritage (SACH) and organised by IICC-X. More than 60 representativesfrom the management agencies for the 22 heritage sites from the China sectionof ‘the Silk Road: Routes network of Chang’an - Tianshan Corridor’, the StateAdministration of Cultural Heritage, ICOMOS China, specialist institutions,universities, and IICC-X gathered in the ancient city of Xi'an, receivedspecialist training on aspects such as monitor of the Silk Road CulturalHeritage, tourism, publicity, digital applications. Ms. Chen Tong Bin, directorof the Institution of Architectural History under China Architecture DesignInstitute, Mr. Zheng Jun, director of the Secretariat ICOMOS China, Ms. ZhaoYun, deputy director of China world cultural heritage Monitoring Center ChineseAcademy of cultural heritage, Mr. Li Yong Ge, director of ancient architecturerepair center Beijing Palace Museum and other experts were invited to givelectures.

During the discussion session on theexchanges between cultural heritage nodes, representatives from the managementagencies for the 22 heritage sites from the China section of ‘the Silk Road:Route network of Chang’an - Tianshan corridor’ spoke in turn to report to theothers of the state and issues of the cultural heritage conservation in theirrespective site.

During the course, representatives visitedthe site of Weiyang Palace in Western Han Dynasty and the Daming PalaceNational Heritage park.
