IICC-X launched a ‘Silk Road Heritage Management Discussion’ Wechat group for the Heritage managers of "The Silk Road: Routes network of Chang - Tianshan Corridor " (China section)
Wechat is China’s equivalent of What’s App.
It was launched by Tencent Inc., supports voice messages, videos, pictures,
texts, and group chats. Users communicate with their friends on wechat in a
variety of methods that are similar but not limited to SMS and MMS. Wechat has
swept the global Chinese circle and has become the top choice for communication
and information feeds among the Chinese community.
In November 2015, on the occasion of the
"2015 Silk Road world cultural heritage protection and management training
course", IICC-X created "the Silk Road Heritage Management
Discussion" wechat group as a communication platform for representatives
from the management agencies for the 22 heritage sites from the China section
of ‘the Silk Road: Routes network of Chang’an - Tianshan Corridor’, government
departments and professional institutions. Group members can interact with each
other at any time through mobile, share their experience of conservation and
management and consult relevant organisation representatives if they have any
questions. At present, the wechat group has over 60 users including
representatives from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and has
received unanimous positive feedbacks.
