BEIJING -- An exhibition highlighting cultural heritage preservation in conflict zones around the world is currently on display at the National Museum of China (NMC) in Beijing.

The exhibition is a collaboration between the NMC and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH), which runs from June 6 to September 5.

The exhibition presents a cross-section of approximately 450 projects from 35 countries that were implemented by ALIPH's local and international partners.

Utilizing various media including 3D videos and 3D printed objects, the event demonstrates the imperative to safeguard cultural heritage threatened by conflict or climate change impacts, while illustrating protection methods.

Visitors are invited to learn about some of the more notable examples of destroyed heritage over the last 30 years as well as the techniques and expertise needed to protect tangible or intangible heritage.

Established in 2017, ALIPH is dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of cultural heritage in conflict zones and post-conflict situations. China is one of its founding member countries.

China celebrates its Cultural and Natural Heritage Day on Saturday, with a wide range of activities held to boost public awareness of heritage protection.
