On August 26, “Mutual Identification of Historical Documents and Archaeological RemainsInternational Symposium on the Silk Road, sponsored by the Gansu Provincial Museum, co-organized by the Research Centre of Silk Road History and Culture of Shaanxi Normal University, and the Documentation Research Institute of Dunhuang Academy, was held in the Gansu Provincial Museum. More than 120 experts and scholars from countries such as the United States, Poland, South Korea, Hungary, Greece, and the cultural heritage organizations and institutions, universities, scientific research institutions of 17 provinces and municipalities in China attended the symposium. Ma Yuping, director of the Gansu Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, Jia Jianwei, director of the Gansu Provincial Museum, and Ge Chengyong, researcher of the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

 

Focused on topics such as the Silk Road documentation, cultural relics research, the Silk Road cultural relics exhibition, etc., the symposium aims to promote the development of the Silk Road research and cultural relics exhibitions to a deeper and broader field, as well as to enhance the academic breadth and publicity of the Silk Road studies.
