本期分享明尼阿波利斯艺术博物馆收藏的中国文物。明尼阿波利斯艺术博物馆(Minneapolis Institute of Art, Mia)于1883年由25位当地居民合力筹建,1915年建成开业,是美国最重要的古代艺术收藏地之一。艺术珍藏达83000多件,其中有很多中国艺术珍品,从被认为流传在海外最大的玉山子到科举考试中的蝇头小抄,类别极其丰富多样。据说Dayton家族的Bruce Dayton老先生在过去的几十年里向MIA 捐赠了2000件艺术品以及超过7200万美元的资金,这其中有超过700件中国艺术精品。由于对中国艺术和文化的热爱,Dayton先生和夫人自上个世纪九十年代起开始收集中国的家具,漆器,陶瓷,文人画,书法及其他各类,涵盖了5000年中国历史的珍品。
其中有购买于苏州的一间17世纪的客厅还有一间18世纪的书房,被认为是美国最全面精致的中国收藏之一。
