UZ-12 BahouddinNaqshband Architectural ComplexThe complex bears a unique testimony to the local Muslim’s burial tradition of building necropolises for rulers, their families, saints and important clergy. The most unique structure of the complexes, the Khonako, is a building specifically designed for the needs of Sufi monks and wandering dervishes alike that were coming to honor Saints. In particular, the ribbed dome, of the khonako, is a unique masterpiece of Central Asian Islamic architecture of the 16thcentury.
