紫铜钟

紫铜钟.宋.尉氏县.石刻及其他.新增.河南省第一批省级文物保护单位

紫铜钟，又名宋铜钟，是河南省尉氏县的一处著名文物保护单位。它原挂于县城东关的太平兴国寺内，与太平兴国寺塔同为该寺的重要设施和组成部分。紫铜钟铸造于宋真宗咸平二年（公元999年）十一月二十八日，并于咸平三年四月十七日悬挂。钟身高五尺五寸，围一丈一尺，厚二寸五分，八齿，形式浑厚，工艺精良。

紫铜钟的钟顶上有“皇帝万岁，重臣千秋”八个大字，每两字中有一眼，共四眼；腹部按八方排列，方方有文，除南方文字全被剥蚀外，其余各方字迹大部清晰可见。钟声悠扬，据传宋时击之，声达汴京，皇帝闻其声清越，命移至汴京，但挂起后击之无声，于是又还给了尉氏，并涂其响眼。后来，紫铜钟被移至县署大门谯楼上。明万历二十三年（公元1595年），邑侯阮公甫倡议就地创建钟鼓楼，第二年春落成，将钟悬挂其上。
