On 25th August, sites excavation of Xinzheng Gates in Kaifeng City of Henan Province.(by Li Bo)

The archaeological excavation work for revealing "City on City" ruins on Xinzheng Gate sites of the capital in Northern Song Dynasty has achieved a progress. Song gates, The roads and cities overlying from Song to Qing and "dwelling nearby the roads" residents in Qing has been revealed. 

The ancient city Kaifeng locates in the south Yellow River, serials of floods buried 6 cities underground during 2000 years from the Warrior States period to Qing.

Approved by S.A.C.H, the project "Cities Overlying" in Xinzheng Gate site of Kaifeng had been launched in 2012, archaeological excavation aimed in protection and conservation had been implemented. Right now, project phase 1 and 2 has accomplished.
