On 22nd June, Beiting Study and
Research Institute was established in Jmusar, where the site of Bashbaliq City
locates, on the second anniversary of the inscription of the World Cultural
Heritage “the Silk Roads: Routes network of Chang’an-Tianshan Corridor”, which
had been jointly nominated by China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
With the foundation and academic
platform of Bashbaliq City, Beiting Studies systematically concentrate on the
history and culture of Bashbaliq City and the ancient region, based on the
existing outcomes, aim on the recovery of the history, history of material
culture, scientific geography, humanity culture and the ecological environment,
and to serve modern “one belt one road”.
Mr. Guo Zhan, first director of Beiting Study and Research Institute, vice-director of Chinese society of Cultural Relics, vice-director of World Heritage Study association addressed in the Opening ceremony. “Site of Bashbaliq City is a shining star and the key-section of World Heritage ‘the Silk Roads: Routes Network of Chang’an-Tianshan Corridor’”, Guo Said, “the institute will serve the research, conservation and exhibition of the site, promote Beiting Study and the cultural Heritage.”
The site of Bashbaliq City is the remain
of Protectorate General to Pacify Beiting in Tang Dynasty, locates in
Gucheng Village of Beiting Town, 12 kilometers north to Jmusar County of
Xinjiang. On 22nd June, 2014, Bashbaliq City was inscribed as one
heritage site of “the Silk Roads: Routes network of Chang’an-Tianshan Corridor”
on the 38th Session of World Heritage Committee. The site is the
only archaeological Heritage Park on National Level of XinJiang, which demonstrates
the central governments’ domination of western regions in ancient times.
