Over 300 valuable works of art, including jewelry and paintings dating from the 18th to 21st centuries, will be exhibited at the Palace Museum in Beijing from Tuesday to July 17. This will be the first time some items have ever been exhibited to the public.

Among the exhibits are a sword used by Napoleon Bonaparte when he ascended the throne and jewelry and a tiara designed for his wife Maria Luise.

The exhibition is being held with the cooperation of French jewelry brand Chaumet, which was founded in 1780 and later appointed by Napoleon to design jewelry for the royal family.

Museums including the Louvre and the Palace of Fontainebleau in France, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in the UK also contributed to the exhibition.

Palace Museum is also providing pieces of royal jewelry from its collection to the exhibition so visitors can compare royal jewelry from China and Europe.
