The more than 1,800 UNESCO designated sites around the world – World Heritage sites, biosphere reserves and Global Geoparks – are impacted by climate change, and can play a significant role in understanding, adapting to and mitigating these impacts.

今天开幕的第二届UNESCO 名录遗产与可持续发展黄山对话会传达了以上重要信息。这一论坛由UNESCO二类中心国际自然与文化遗产空间技术中心（HIST）和中国科学院遥感与数字地球研究所主办，由黄山风景区管理委员会承办。

These were the key messages from the opening day of the 2nd Huangshan Dialogue, a global forum on UNESCO-designated sites and sustainable development, organized by the HIST Category 2 centre under the auspices of UNESCO and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and supported by the Mount Huangshan Administrative Committee.

联合国教科文组织驻华代表处代表欧敏行女士在她的开幕致辞中提到，UNESCO名录遗产可以展现可持续性具体行动，展现自然和文化遗产保护如何落实，如何得到社区可持续发展、教育和研究的支持。

In her opening remarks, Dr Marielza Oliveira, Director of the UNESCO Beijing Office, noted that UNESCO designated sites are demonstration sites for sustainability in action, showing how safeguarding of natural and cultural heritage takes place in practice, supported by sustainable local development, education and research.

在接下来的四天中，来自全球的150名参会者-包括46名专家学者-将齐聚一堂，就UNESCO名录遗产如何加强全球对气候变化的理解进行深入探讨，并将于9月15日实地参观考察黄山世界遗产地及世界地质公园。

Over four days, culminating in a field visit to the world famous Mount Huangshan World Heritage site and Global Geopark on 15 September, the dialogue's more than 150 participants - including 46 experts from countries around the world - will discuss exchange, cooperation and new initiatives that link UNESCO-designated sites to strengthen the global understanding of climate change
