Master Jing Ye Pagoda
The Master Jing Ye Pagoda,located inside Xiangji TempleVillage, Shenheyuan,southwest of Sub-district Office Weiqu,Chang` an Districtof Xi` an City,was built in the Tang Dynasty and is at the height of 15.12meters. The pagoda is repaired from time to time by successive dynasties. Thispagoda was built by a disciple of Pure-land School for the founder of thesecond generation of this school,Master Shan Dao. In front of this pagoda,thereused to be an inscription of Sarira Stupa of Xiangji Temple Master Jingye whichwas carved in the 12th year of Kaiyuan Period in the Tang Dynasty (724). Thestela is 68cm high and 72cm wide,with 26 lines of regular script and 24characters in each line on the tablet. The calligraphy is powerful andvigorous. The avris of the tablet is decorated by patterns. After thefoundation of People` s Republic of China,this pagoda inscription was removedto Xi` an Pagoda Forest Museum.

この塔は仏教浄土宗の弟子が二代目の祖師善導大師のために、建造した 塔である。塔の前に元は唐開元十二年 (724) に刻んだ、高さ68センチ、 幅72センチの香積寺浄業法師舎利塔銘の碑文があつて、雄勁で有力な書道 の楷書26行、行24字、周囲には花紋で飾つてある。建国後、塔銘は西安 碑林博物館に移したのである。
