From November 1st, the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University launched its exhibition of the year:" Fusion of Colors: Special Exhibition on the Civilization of the Silk Road". The exhibition is jointly organised by Peking University and the Cultural Heritage Administration of Xi njiang Uy gur Autonomous Region. The exhibition includes 70 pieces (sets) of cultural relics from 11 museums, including the Xingjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum, the Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology of Xingjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Turpan Museum and MuMu Gallery, etc.. The relics at exhibition includes: the corpse of "Xiaohe Princess" and her boat coffin, the exquisite and bright clothing of "Y ingpan man" from the Han-Jin Dynasties, the fragments of the manuscript of "Historical Records of the Three Kingdoms · Wu Kingdom · Sun Quan’ s Biography", and the lovely pottery figurines unearthed from Astana cemetery. This exhibition takes the historical course of Xinjiang and the Silk Road as a main line, highlights the theme of cultural exchanges and collisions in Xinjiang, and focuses on relics of Han and Tang dynasties unearthed in Xinjiang. The exhibition lasts from November 1st, 2019 to February 28th, 2020. |
