International Conference on the “IT Technologies for the Cultural Heritage Management” (IT-CHM’2019) took place on May 22, 2019 on the territory of the mosque of Ulugbek, complex of Registan, city of Samarkand.
This conference was jointly organized by:
– Institute of Computer Science, Lublin University of Technology, Poland,
– Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan,
– Complex of Registan, Samarkand, Uzbekistan,
– International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS),
– Scientific and practical museum-laboratory, Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
It is worth to mention the contribution of Dr. Marek Milosz, Lublin University of Technology, Poland, to the organization and implementation of the conference.
Conference was opened by Pyotr Ivashkevich the Ambassador of Poland to Uzbekistan.
Conference was attended by the representatives of USA, Poland and UK representing various scientific and research, official and international organizations. In total over fifteen presentations and a master-class on the development of the 3D models with the use of the manual 3D scanner were made.
Director of IICAS D.A. Voyakin and research fellow of the scientific and research organization “Archaeological Expertise” D.V. Sorokin have made the presentation on the “New Perception of Cultural Heritage through New 3D Web Portal”. In addition, D.A. Voyakin was designated by the decision of the Council of the Institute of Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology dated by April 18, 2019, as the member of the Program Committee of the "3D Digital Silk Road" Portal.
Following guests of IICAS have also made their presentations during the conference:
– Prof. Tim Williams, University College London (UCL), UK. Presentation “The Central Asian Archaeological Landscapes Project: Digital Geospatial Inventories and Archives for Central Asia”;
– Dr. Ona Vileikis, University College London (UCL), UK, and F.F. Khabibullayev. Presentation “Heritage Impact and Condition Assessments using Advanced Technologies: Turkestan and Bukhara Case Studies”.
As the result of the conference Pyotr Ivashkevich the Ambassador of Poland to Uzbekistan personally gave the certificates to the participations of the International Conference on the “IT Technologies for the Cultural Heritage Management” (IT-CHM’2019).
